Register for our Recovery Walk!!
Help raise awareness and funds to fight addiction in our community.
Saturday, August 26th, 2017
Safe Harbor Easton will be hosting a two-city recovery walk in conjunction with Warren County CARES in Phillipsburg, NJ. CARES held their “When Two Lines Meet, Heroes become Superheroes” walk last year, bringing community members, recovering individuals, families and local law enforcement officers together in an event to raise awareness about the opioid crisis. This year, Safe Harbor will lead the Easton side of the walk. We will proceed down Northampton Street and meet the Phillipsburg side at the Free Bridge. The Free Bridge will close for a brief ceremony remembering those we have lost to addiction. Additional speakers and performances (including recovery-based rapper T.J. Spitter) will be held in Riverside Park following the ceremony. We will be honoring several public officials for their work in combating the drug crisis as well. We will finish the event up with a free cookout in Scott Park.
Anyone and everyone is invited to attend. The first 100 registrants from each side the day of the event will receive free T-shirts. If we see that there is a need for more, we will order them to accommodate everyone in attendance. Therefore, if you are interested in attending the walk, please register using the form below.
If you would like to raise pledges, checks and cash donations will be accepted at registration to support recovery programming at Safe Harbor Easton. Pledges are welcomed but not required. There is NO registration fee! If you would like to walk with a sign, please feel free to make and bring one, so long as it is appropriate and family-friendly.
The schedule of events is as follows, although subject to some change depending on how long presenters take:
10am – Registration & snacks at Safe Harbor Easton
11am – Walk from SHE to Free Bridge
11:30am – Ceremony on Free Bridge
12:30pm – Free cookout lunch in Riverside Park
Please grab a friend, your family or your coworkers and take a stand with us against addiction!
